Feedback sessions about substance exposed newborns and prenatal substance exposure

The Colorado Department of Human Services Office of Children Youth and Families, Division of Child Welfare is updating Volume 7 for substance-exposed newborn abuse and neglect definitions related to prenatal substance exposure. The purpose of the proposed set of definitions is to add new definitions to support consistency in practice with the passage of Senate Bill 20-028. These rules are scheduled to be effective by August 2021.

Purpose: To be informed on the SEN Rule Writing Work Group progress, to ask questions, and to provide feedback and input.
