NRCDR closing, diligent recruitment support still available

The National Resource Center for Diligent Recruitment at AdoptUSKids (NRCDR) closed on September 29, 2017. All other AdoptUSKids services and supports to jurisdictions, professionals and families remain in operation.

The Capacity Building Center for States and Capacity Building Center for Tribes will continue to provide assistance to states and tribes on a wide range of child welfare topics. The Capacity Building Centers will support capacity-building diligent recruitment services previously provided by NRCDR. Additionally, Beverly Gmerek, foster care and adoption recruitment and retention specialist at the Division of Child Welfare, is available to provide technical assistance to counties and child placement agencies in support of their diligent recruitment plans. Contact Beverly at beverly.gmerek@state.co.us or call (303) 866-5390.

The NRCDR website will remain online and available through March 2019, so you can continue to access its publications, archived webinars, tools and ideas from the field. Publications and archived webinars will also be posted in the professionals' section of the AdoptUSKids website.

AdoptUSKids will continue to provide information and resources to child welfare systems and families through the AdoptUSKids website, the national photolisting and the national adoption recruitment campaign, and by providing models of family support. AdoptUSKids will also offer targeted capacity-building services.

Child Welfare Information Gateway will continue to offer a rich repository of information on recruiting and supporting families as part of its comprehensive resources on child welfare.
