    Join the Weld County Department of Human Services for an open house-style meeting about becoming a foster parent. A presentation begins at 5 pm but everyone is invited to arrive early to chat with county staff and others who are interested in becoming foster parents.

    In this meeting we will cover basic information about the foster care system, basic foster care rules and regulations, and our foster care process. You’ll leave with all the information and forms you need to move forward in becoming a foster parent. This meeting counts toward 3 hours of required training.

  • Boulder County Foster Care & Adoption Orientation

    Foster parents provide temporary care of a child or children while supporting family and agency efforts to reunify the parents with their children. Most children served by the agency remain at home, but for those children whose safety requires temporary removal, the goal is always to reunite the family.

    Every day, foster parents stand up for children in our community by opening their home and their hearts to children in need of temporary parental care. Foster parents have many roles. One of the most critical is offering protection and basic provisions for children until their parents are ready and able to ensure those needs are met.
