About Us

CO4Kids is Colorado’s campaign to raise awareness of ways to prevent child abuse and neglect and the need for foster and adoptive families in every community. The campaign, which is run by the Colorado Department of Human Services, includes the Child Abuse and Neglect Hotline. This 24-hour-a-day, 365-day-a-year hotline is a resource for Coloradans to connect families to the support they need to thrive.

If you know a family that could use support or if you have concerns about possible child abuse or neglect, call 844-CO-4-Kids. In nearly 97% of child welfare assessments, children and youth stay in their homes. If a child is in immediate danger, call 911. If not you, then who?

History

In 2015, the Colorado Department of Human Services, in partnership with more than 150 community partners across the state, launched the CO4Kids child abuse and neglect public awareness campaign. The initial focus of the campaign was to promote the statewide, confidential child abuse and neglect reporting hotline, 844-CO-4-Kids.

Since that time, the campaign has grown to include efforts for educating the public about signs of abuse and neglect, raising awareness of the need for foster and adoptive families, training mandatory reporters about their role in reporting suspected abuse or neglect and encouraging all Coloradans to get involved and play a role in the prevention of child abuse and neglect.
